To My Future Roommate

To my future roommate,

At this point we have been talking for a few weeks. We figured out our likes and dislikes, and our preferences on how we prefer our sleeping arrangements. We even started to plan our dream dorm room. We agreed to be roommates after finding out our shared love of YouTubers, bands, and photography, but there are things I want you to know.

I. My family.

a. I don’t have a sister. And I haven’t shared a room since I was ten. And I’m insanely close with my family. Please don’t think it’s weird; we’ve been through a lot.

b. I was never allowed to have sleepovers as a child. My cousins would stay over sometimes, but my friends were never able to stay over. That being said, I wasn’t able to spend that much time with friends either. I was always preoccupied.

II. Weird Things I Do When I sleep.

a. I need music to fall asleep. It’s a result of having to watch a horror movie in Spanish. I just need the noise.

            b. Sometimes I sleepwalk. Don’t ever let me on the top bunk (if we have bunk beds).

c. I will say some weird/deep/inspirational stuff when I am sleep deprived. I will also think everything is funny. I call it being “drink tired.” You should just put me to bed at that point. (Note: I don’t drink. It’s just a phrase)

III. Things About My Personality.

            a. I like alone time. It’s not going to be anything you did. I just need time to be alone.

            b. I don’t eat when I’m stressed-I cry. It’s best to ignore me then.

            c. I will sing-badly.

            d. I can’t dance-and I won’t.

            e. I will binge-watch Netflix shows with you.

            f. I’m not a rule breaker. They are there for a reason.

            g. I’m always early. I live by “To be on time is late, and to be early is on time.”

            h. I’m always up for an adventure.

            i. Music is a big part of me. My headphones are usually always in.

            j. I take school very seriously. I rarely go to parties.

            k. I like write and read. A lot. Like, a lot.

            l. I’m pretty weird. Be prepared for that.

IV. Honesty.

            a. Honesty is a huge for me. And I’m not good at guessing. If, well when, I annoy you-tell me.             If I’m doing anything wrong-tell me. If you end up hating me-tell me. I won’t care as long as               you are being honest.

Lastly, I promise to respect you and your things. I am so excited to get to know you better. 42 days until we move in.
