Mini High School Reflection
"I believe that everything in life happens for a reason."-Boris Becker
Hello everyone!
First off, huge apologies for being so horrible at this. I have drafts, that I never managed to post. But! I will soon, trust me.
Let's just get this out right now. High school sucks. Everybody says senior year is the best year ever, but really, it's stressful, annoying, kind of disappointing, and expensive!
First of all, it's stressful. If you take AP/Honors courses all through high school, colleges would be thrown off if you stopped taking them senior year. So you have to keep taking those hard, time consuming classes. On top of that, during the first semester, everything is about college applications. That means writing essays, finding letters of recommendation, and keeping everything straight. So. Freaking. Hard. During the second semester, decision letters are out so nerves are high. After that, it's time to find scholarships. That means more essays, more letters of recommendation, and more confusion. Yay, right?
Secondly, senior year is annoying. There is so much stuff that needs to get done, yet Senioritis is happening. Staying motivated is probably the hardest thing, especially for the Spring semester. Then there are all of these activities that need to be attended like Homecoming, Prom, and all of the other dances that mean nothing. I, for one, have decided to not attend my Senior Prom. I don't believe it's necessary and the $75(+) I'm saving can be spent on something else.
Senior year can be kind of disappointing. Unless you apply to a school you'll absolutely get into and love, or have a 4.0 GPA, there is a chance your dream school will not accept you. I got rejected from my dream school and honestly, it hurt. I worked my butt off the past four years only to be rejected. But, I got over it. I decided on a school that offers me everything I want to do and I couldn't be happier at the moment. Just wait, I will be attending my dream school for graduate school.
Holy crap. Senior year is expensive. Senior Women's jersey, Homecoming ticket, Prom ticket, dresses, Senior Lock-In, Graduation fees(you actually have to pay for that!), college application fees, ACT fees, AP test fees, transcript transfer fees, and anything else you want to do for fun. Seriously, it adds up. Start saving early for this year because it is ridiculously expensive.
I think that's the end of my 'rant' about everything academic that has happened this past school year. I am done in less than 30 days and my high school days are over-finally. I'll catch up soon!
